Facts lead to truth; truth leads to trust…And trust leads to democracy

We’re in this together. And every voice matters.

Our mission

The Norris & Teretha Beckley Foundation was created as a safe forum for difficult conversations about our lives today. How do we safeguard the public, educate our children, care for ourselves and our families?

Beyond open dialogue is action. We believe in our community. And we believe in our children. We work tirelessly to expand their horizons and their opportunities.

Let’s do more!

Lift up their voices

Our purpose is to lift up the voices of people whose stories need to be told - centering them to tell their own stories about their lives and their truths.

Facts lead to truth...

We built our mission on this statement by Maria Ressa, Editor of Rappler, and 2019 Time Magazine Person of the Year and Nobel Peace Prize awardee in 2021.

No stranger to harrassment and persecution in her home country of The Philipines, Maria persevered to become an icon for people everywhere who honor the truth.

Where are we going?

We’re from here - the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. It’s home and where our hearts are. We’re ready to help and ready to serve. And our town, Shelbyville, is just the beginning. The truth is, we need to be everywhere to defend democracy, center people, and serve the public. Join us. It’s America. There’s room for everyone.
